The news flash said Governor Ed Panlilio of Pampanga will run for president in the coming 2010 election.
Although I am half-expecting it since he won as governor of Pampanga in the last election, I was still surprised that it really happened.
The House of Representatives yesterday (Monday) failed to hold session for lack of quorum.
The session was supposed to start at 4 p.m. but only few lawmakers were present on the floor. At least 132 members should be present to constitute a quorum.
When the roll call was finally called at 5:10 p.m., only 131 congressmen showed up, or two short of the required 133 members to constitute a quorum.
Reports have said that some 50 congressmen watched the Pacquiao vs Hatton fight in the United States; 25 were attending the Palarong Pambansa in Leyte; and 10 others were with President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo for her Egypt trip.
The War At Home
by: Chip TsaoThe Russians sank a Hong Kong freighter last month, killing the seven Chinese seamen on board. We can live with that Lenin and Stalin were once the ideological mentors of all Chinese people. The Japanese planted a flag on Dioy Island. That’s no big problem we Hong Kong Chinese love Japanese cartoons, Hello Kitty, and shopping in Shinjuku, let alone our round-the-clock obsession with karaoke.
But hold on even the Filipinos? Manila has just claimed sovereignty over the scattered rocks in the South China Sea called the Spratly Islands, complete with a blatant threat from its congress to send gunboats to the South China Sea to defend the islands from China if necessary. This is beyond reproach. The reason: there are more than 130,000 Filipina maids working as $3,580-a-month cheap labor in Hong Kong. As a nation of servants, you don’t flex your muscles at your master, from whom you earn most of your bread and butter.
As a patriotic Chinese man, the news has made my blood boil. I summoned Louisa, my domestic assistant who holds a degree in international politics from the University of Manila, hung a map on the wall, and gave her a harsh lecture. I sternly warned her that if she wants her wages increased next year, she had better tell every one of her compatriots in Statue Square on Sunday that the entirety of the Spratly Islands belongs to China.
Grimly, I told her that if war breaks out between the Philippines and China, I would have to end her employment and send her straight home, because I would not risk the crime of treason for sponsoring an enemy of the state by paying her to wash my toilet and clean my windows 16 hours a day. With that money, she would pay taxes to her government, and they would fund a navy to invade our motherland and deeply hurt my feelings.
Oh yes. The government of the Philippines would certainly be wrong if they think we Chinese are prepared to swallow their insult and sit back and lose a Falkland Islands War in the Far East. They may have Barack Obama and the hawkish American military behind them, but we have a hostage in each of our homes in the Mid-Levels or higher. Some of my friends told me they have already declared a state of emergency at home. Their maids have been made to shout China, Madam/Sir loudly whenever they hear the word Spratly. They say the indoctrination is working as wonderfully as when we used to shout, Long live Chairman Mao! at the sight of a portrait of our Great Leader during the Cultural Revolution. Im not sure if thats going a bit too far, at least for the time being.
Futang-inah mo Chip Tsao, wala kang kwentang writer!
Mga kababayan, ibahagi nyo ang inyong damdamin sa pamamagitan ng pag-iwan ng konting komento sa blog na ito.

Just yesterday, I haven’t noticed that my Friendster was already in jeopardy. Having 227 friends before now it’s already trimmed down to 12. the rest of my friends were lost in this shitty problem. What the hell happens to Friendster now?
Please be advised that Friendster has suffered a great damage on their site as a computer hacker named h4xor-nytmare had infiltrated their database.
Please do not log in your account(s) or add friends for the time being for the team is currently recovering the losses that were inflicted.
Share this idea so the public may know. thank you.
1. Focus on enjoying people , not on indulging in or accumulating material things. 2. Plan to spend whatever you have saved. You deserve to enjoy it and the few healthy years you have left. Travel if you can afford it. Don’t leave anything for your children or loved ones to quarrel about. By leaving anything, you may even cause more trouble when you are gone.
3. Live in the here and now, not in the yesterdays and tomorrows. It is only today that you can handle. Yesterday is gone, tomorrow may not even happen.
4. Enjoy your grandchildren (if you are blessed with any) but don’t be their full time baby sitter. You have no moral obligation to take care of them. Don’t have any guilt about refusing to baby sit anyone’s kids, including your own grandkids. Your parental obligation is to your children. After you have raised them into responsible adults, your duties of child-rearing and babysitting are finished. Let
your children raise their own off-springs.
5. Accept physical weakness, sickness and other physical pains. It is a part of the aging process . Enjoy whatever your health can allow.
6. Enjoy what you are and what you have right now. Stop working hard for what you do not have. If you do not have them, it’s probably too late.
7. Just enjoy your life with your spouse, children, grandchildren and friends. People, who truly love you, love you for yourself, not for what you have. Anyone who loves you for what you have will just give you misery.
8. Forgive and accept forgiveness. Forgive yourself and others. Enjoy peace of mind and peace of soul.
9. Befriend death. It’s a natural part of the life cycle. Don’t be afraid of it. Death is the beginning of a new and better life. So, prepare yourself not for death but for a new life with the Almighty.
10. Be at peace with your Creator …For… He is all you have after you leave this life
PHOENIX – Republican John McCain concedes the presidential race to Barack Obama, saying the Democrat has achieved a “great thing” for himself and the country with his historic victory.
McCain — with wife Cindy on one side and running-mate Sarah Palin on the other — urged his supporters to put aside partisan differences and work to get “the country moving again.“
Speaking from outside the Arizona Biltmore Hotel in Phoenix, McCain told his supporters: “It’s natural tonight to feel some disappointment. Though we fell short, the failure is mine, not yours.”
